Matt and Margie Helm have served in the youth at Cedar Hill since September, 2002.
They met at York College and were married December 1992. They began serving in youth ministry in Lonoke, Arkansas while Margie was finishing a nursing degree at Harding University. Soon after they moved to Wichita, Kansas, Matt’s hometown, and worked for the Westlink Church of Christ until moving to Cedar Hill in 2002. Matt always felt his mission was Youth Ministry desiring to serve in that role since he was in 8th grade. He pursued a Biblical Studies degree at York College, and later received a Master’s Degree from Friends University in Wichita in Marriage and Family Development and Education to help him in his service. He continues to work with parents and teens seeking God’s guidance in helping them develop and live out faith in Jesus Christ.
Besides serving the Youth Minister, Matt also currently serves as the worship leader on Sunday mornings and he teaches a regular Taekwondo class to members’ children at the church. Matt and Margie have three wonderful children of their own; Ben, Rylie, and Allie whom they love implicitly and feel are some of God’s greatest treasures.
