Alan and his wife Linda Martin have been serving at Cedar Hill Church of Christ since June 2022.
Alan has had an accomplished academic career. He received his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University in 1994 and his Ph.D in Marriage and Family Therapy with a focus on Family and Child Ecology from Michigan State University in 2005.
Early in his career he served in various roles within the ministry of family and marriage therapy, both as a clinic administrator and life coach. Later he would go on to become a professor in Bible and Marriage and Family Life Ministry at Oklahoma Christian University in 2005, eventually becoming academic dean of the College of Biblical Studies in 2010. After serving in that capacity for a period of five years, he eventually returned to the call of marriage and family ministry.
They have been blessed with three, now grown, children and five grandchildren.
